Another AAPI month has come and gone. Generally, outside of some call outs, it is not a major mover of things in life. I decided to attach a couple of examples of how AAPI month is advertised.
First is Fanflix, a discount digital provider that sent an email. As you'll notice, the majority of the content is Asian. But not really Asian American.
The second one is Viki, a provider of content from Asian countries, mostly from Korea. But a fair amount from Zhong Guo, Taiwan, and Japan. The AAPI is not even AAPI here, it has been shortened to API. They dropped the American part completely.
Generally speaking, there's so little AAPI led content that most providers have to include content from the motherlands to fill in the space. If there's an AAPI as a supporting role, it'll get lumped in as well.
