桃花小妹 - MoMo Love - First Episode Impressions

MoMo Love (桃花小妹) started broadcasting last week. I had a chance to watch the first episode via YouTube.

My first impression is that I laugh a lot and was sucked into the absurdity of it all. The presentation of the 4 brothers was quite something. You had to enjoy how superhuman they are and how much they love their sister.

I like how this takes the story to the College level. If this were a High School story, I don't think it would as believable (I don't think that's a focus).

In all, I am looking forward to this drama making it to DVD here. I won't have the patience to watch it on my computer.

桃花小妹 - MoMo Love - Upcoming

MoMo Love (桃花小妹) is an upcoming drama out of Taiwan. It is set to start broadcasting tomorrow, Sunday, October 18, 2009. The stars of the series are Cyndi Wang, Jiro Wang, and Calvin Chen. Cyndi's character has 5 brothers played by Ken Chu, Lan Jun Tian, Ding Chun Cheng, Godfrey Gao, and Jing Wong. But the one supporting cast member that I am looking forward to is Li Jia Ying!

From the teasers and super long previews, it looks pretty interesting. But I wasn't really on board until I found out Li Jia Ying is in this drama too.

I'll give it go when it makes it to LA in DVD in 2010. Until than, you can catch it via CTS/GTV or on the web.

They were making the rounds on the variety shows in Taiwan this past week. I caught them on KangXi. Youtube clips included.

愛到底 - L-O-V-E (Love) - Upcoming

愛到底 (L-O-V-E / Love) is being released this Friday in Taiwan.

I am looking forward to it. Seems to be a episodic movie about 4 different love stories.

It has a star studded cast from past and present. I wish it the best of luck in Taiwan and aboard in the Asia region. I also hope for a version on the US shores by the end of the month that's in good quality.

Chu Liu Xiang - Chor Lau Heung - 楚留香

Originally posted on xanga.

I remember in the early 80s, watching the Adam Cheng's Chor Lau Heung TVB series from 1979. I was a crazy long series with 60 episodes I think. But I remember how much I loved it.

When the 1984 Chor Lau Heung series starring Michael Miu about the Bat Prince Adventures, I was a Chor Lau Heung fan for life.

I later caught the Aaron Kwok movie and started going back to the Ti Long's Shaw Bros movies as well. All great stuff.

I was a avid watcher when Richie Ren's 2001 series came out. I liked that it was 40 episodes with a main storyline, but sub stories were explored. Each new story brought a new wrinkle and new characters. I was kept on my feet at every turn because it was fresh.

That's why I am so disappointed in the 2007 Ken Chu (from F4) series, Chu Liu Xiang. The character of Chu Liu Xiang seemed to be in essence what I remember. The story line was really interesting for the first 15 episodes. However, the story kept returning the same characters over and over again. They move from location A to B, same characters. Location B to C, same characters. I was so bored. I must have fast forward through 60% of it. Probably watched the last 2 episodes. Chu Liu Xiang is a great character, the series made sure that it stayed to what I remember it. But the story casted around Chu Liu Xiang was repetitive and boring.
