Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (星際異攻隊3) is an 2023 film. The movie stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldaña, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Sean Gunn, Chukwudi Iwuji, Will Poulter, Elizabeth Debicki, Maria Bakalova, and Sylvester Stallone. As the title suggest, this is the third Guardians movie. James Gunn returns from exile to finish the trilogy. This is also the 32nd MCU film. The current Guardians cast say that this is their ending. Let's see who survives this movie and continues on in the MCU.

The Guardians have now bought Knowwhere and are building it out. Adam attacks and does a lot of damage. When they finially stop the rampage, Rocket is seriously injuried. While trying to save him, they find that they can only do it if they find out who made him. The Guardians set out to find his maker and try to save him. Can they save Rocket and keep everyone alive?

This was a ride and than some. Hard to believe that the James Gunn era is over. And Gunn went out with a bang. Since Vol. 3 comes out so long after Vol. 2 and the events of the Thanos, it feels like they have bonded. And at the same time, it feels so different than Vol 2 and Endgame GOTG. We see a bit from the Christmas special, but it only bridge GOTG from Thor to Vol 3. You have to have a bit of MCU GOTG knowledge to know where they are at now.

The movie itself has a bit of everything. This one has lots and lots of flashbacks, mostly from Rocket. but of others too. When set up many sob moments because of how cruel Rocket was created. It also has plenty of "family" moments meant to draw sobs. I wonder if I will be so teary eyed on repeat watches.

Some of the headlines have been that this is best MCU movie since Endgame. This movie was maybe the closest you get to the feeling you had when you watch Infinity War and Endgame. The recent MCU movies of phase 4 and 5 have been good, but it does not have that awe luster that phases 1, 2, and 3 brought out of you. Old school MCU and this may be the last one of that sort. The movie belongs as part of Phase 3.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (星際異攻隊2) is an 2017 film. The movie stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, and Dave Bautista. The film also features the voices of Vin Diesel and Bradley Cooper. The is a sequel the first Guardians of the Galaxy. It is the fifteenth installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

The Guardians have been hired to take down a big octopus like monster on the planet where the Sovereign race inhabit. Their payment is the captured Nebula. On their way out, Rocket steals a battery that they were defending. The Sovereign race find out and give chase. While they make their escape, they are met in space by Ego. Ego invites a few of them to his planet, while the rest stay behind. Quill, Gamora, and Drax goto the planet and meet Mantis, a servant of Ego who has empath powers. Yondu Udonta captures those that stayed with the ship. Nebula goes after Gamora. Ego reveals who he is and his relation to Quill. Let the fun begin if it hasn't already.

If you liked the first Guardians of the Galaxy, you'll like this one. I compare it to a television series you like and binge watch. In this cast, Vol. 2 is really the second episode of the Guardians series. Same cast, same director, same writer. Same feel. Because the character development was at a minimum, the action in this film was off the charts. More crazy off world, this is another galaxy type stuff. They don't have the restrictions of earth rules to bog down their storyline.

I recommend a watch as it reveals much about the cosmic side of the MCU.

Guardians Of The Galaxy (星際異攻隊) is an 2014 film. The movie stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, and Dave Bautista. The film also features the voices of Vin Diesel and Bradley Cooper.

The movie starts in 1988 with Peter Quill as a child being asked to spend time with his dying mother on his birthday. When the boy runs outside, he's whisked away by a spaceship. Fast forward 26 years, enter an adult Peter Quill as Star-Lord, a master thief looking for the orb that powered the planet Morag. In this part of the galaxy, there are two "alien" races of the Xandar and the Kree. The two races have a truce, but some Kree would still like to destroy Xandar. We find out a rogue Kree warrior named Ronan is after the orb so he can exchange it for a favor with Thanos. The plot thickens when all five characters fight each other for the orb on Xander but are all captured and sent to an prison. There, they form a group based on selling the orb to The Collector.



Whew! That's just the beginning plot. The rest of the story goes long and funny and lots of action. By far one of the better films to really embrace music as it sets up the mood and scenes. The mix tape that Peter's mom gives him is a major factor in the film and a major seller even today.



This is a very well made film. James Gunn has outdone himself here. I've seen his other indie films and they were, indie films. This is a step up to the big time. With this movie, Chris Pratt has also fast tracked himself into the A-List realm, as the Peter Quill character seems a perfect fit for him. Without Chris Pratt, the movie falls very flat.

Go watch it, its funny, lots of action, and comes with a story you can invest and get lots out of.
