Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker - 星際大戰:天行者的崛起 - Star Wars IX

Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker (Star Wars:天行者的崛起) is an 2019 film. The movie stars Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, and Adam Driver. The supporting cast include Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Anthony Daniels, Billy Dee Williams, Domhnall Gleeson, Keri Russell, Joonas Suotamo, and Kelly Marie Tran. There are many more cameos and JJ Abrams regulars sprinkled throughout the film. This is the ninth film of the Skywalker film series and reportedly the final one as well. Lucasfilm has made reports of the film series going in a different direction after the Skywalker series.

Rey is receiving Jedi training from Leia. Chewbacca, Poe, and Finn are working on lead to recover a spy message. They are ambushed and are forced to fight their way out. Rey than receives feelings and ends her training to go find the force message. Chewbacca, Poe, and Finn join Rey on their way to Pasaana. They look for a lead that will lead them to destroying the Frist Order. However, the old Emperor shows up and wants to take over the galaxy. A bunch of cat and mouse chases start. Can Rey and the group save the Resistance?

As the last in the sag, this movie was pretty good. Lots of action tempered with some character development here and there. Add to it the way the force is used, you have a whole new era of Star Wars fans in the making. You should go back and watch episodes IV through VIII to catch up a little. There are quite a few references to the older movies. Even I-III have some reference, but small ones.

I am glad and sad the series will end here. The Skywalker series is the one that led us all to love the franchise so much. But its also time to expand the universe or galaxy beyond this group. And you've seen it happen in other areas. As I do not read books, this will be interesting how they bring the other Disney+ and film series to screen.

JJ does a good job of ending starting and ending this trilogy. I can see the critics nit picking on things, but it was a good end to the series. But this movie kept me on the edge of my seat for most of the film. All the old Star Wars mythos were in full effect. This movie was made for Star Wars fans.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi - 最後的絕地武士

Star Wars: The Last Jedi (最後的絕地武士) is an 2017 film. The movie stars Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, and Oscar Isaac. This is the 8th film of the Star Wars film series. The 2nd in the current trilogy. The film was directed by Rian Johnson of Looper fame.

Rey looks to Luke Skywalker for guidance on how to become a Jedi. Luke is reluctant due to his experience with Kylo Ren. The first order continues to chase the remaining rebellion fraction. Finn awakes from his injury to look for Rey, but must first help the rebellion escape the first order. Rey and Ren are connected to the force by Snoke. Eventually leading Rey to a Snoke showdown. The rebel forces are pinned down and their last hope is Luke.

Wow, my summary gives this movie no justice. The Last Jedi was full of twist and turns. Everything you wanted and saw in the trailers were a distraction. The movie took all your expectations of Star Wars as a franchise and turned it on its head. Jedi lore, debunked. Hero's overcome tyranny, debunked. A happy ending? Not with the 2nd arc of a trilogy. Rey and Finn continued romance, complicated.

I personally liked the film. I watched it twice the weekend it came out. At the moment, I am undecided if I should purchase or just rent. Or wait for it to show up on HBO. I may have to watch again to make up my mind. Maybe one of these Redbox T-Mobile Tuesday, I'll rent it again.

It's Star Wars, one of the most beloved franchises in the world. You decide if you want to continue on. You can't watch the 9th episode without watching this one.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens - 原力覺醒

Star Wars: The Force Awakens (原力覺醒) is an 2015 film. The movie stars Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, and Oscar Isaac. The supporting cast include Mark Hamill and Max von Sydow. This is the seventh installment of the Star Wars film series started by George Lucas. This is the first installment since Lucas sold Star Wars to Disney. As of this writing, it is the highest grossing movie in US movie history, not adjusting for inflation.

Rey is a scavenger with a particular knowledge of space ships and piloting. The remnants of the Empire have rebranded themselves as The First Order and are hunting what remains of the rebellion. Princess Leia is the head of the Resistance, but they've seemed to have lost Luke Skywalker, the last Jedi. When a pilot that may have a map to the location of Skywalker, The First Order send their forces to capture the map, landing them on Jukku, where Rey is based. As fate would have it, Rey and the map are connect and The First Order go after her. But she gets some help from some familiar faces.

This movie was great. I don't mean good. But great! It was a thrill ride for much of the movie. Were there some not so interesting moments? Yes, but they were few and far between. The story is quite similar to the original Star Wars movie. Similar plot points, but 30 years later with a different crew. Bringing back Han Solo and Chewbacca brought back nostalgia for those that grew up on Star Wars in the 1980s. But since the 1990s, there's been a steady stream of multiple media that has kept Star Wars in the general public. From toys, comics, books, rides, to others, it has stayed in the mainstream. That lead to its epic box office showing in the US. I think the next couple of installments will break some global records.

This installment sets up the next movie well by revealing Luke at the end. It foreshadows Rey's training as the next Jedi, at the Jedi temple. Will this Jedi temple break Rey and make her a Jedi? We'll see in the next installment.
