The Way We Are (天水圍的日與夜) is a 2008 film out of Hong Kong. The movie stars Paw Hee-Ching, Chan Lai-Wan, and Juno Leung.
The movie follows a few days in the life of Mrs. Cheung and her son Cheung Ka-On, played by Pau Hei-Ching and Juno Leung. Granny Foon moves into the same building and becomes co-workers with Mrs. Cheung. We follow The Cheungs during a few days of summer break. Granny Foon has become good friends with Mrs. Cheung and Cheung Ka-On has been very helpful.
It's a rather slow movie. And you must have patience to watch this. This film has been up for many awards and you can see why as it's a well made film. It definitely falls on the artsy fartsy side of things.
In the end, it was rather enjoyable as it was a nice to see a simple slice of life of a rather normal HK family.
Give it a go and see what all the fuss was about.
