MacGruber
MacGruber is a 2010 film. The movie stars Will Forte, Kristen Wiig, Ryan Phillippe, Val Kilmer, and Maya Rudolph. The story is based on an SNL character of the same name. The SNL character is a character based off the successfully 1980s television series, MacGyver.
MacGruber has been in exile for the last 10 years, since the death of his wife. But a new treat to the US has arisen that forces the hand of an high powered General to bring him back. Once back, MacGruber tries to bring down the current villain whom is also an old villain. With the help of his late wife's best friend and a hot shot recruit out of the FBI, he seeks to take down the treat.
The movie was crude and rude. I remember MacGyver fondly and the version in SNL was way more in line with that. When you give it a whole a movie, there is a lot to fill in the blanks with. And what they did was no good. Not a successful transfer from SNL to the movies.
