Spider-Man: Far From Home - 蜘蛛人:離家日

Spider-Man: Far From Home (蜘蛛人:離家日) is an 2019 film. The movie stars Tom Holland, Jake Gyllenhaal, Samuel L. Jackson, Zendaya, and Cobie Smulders. The supporting cast include Jon Favreau, J. B. Smoove, Jacob Batalon, Martin Starr, and Marisa Tomei. This is a sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming (蜘蛛人:返校日), the 23rd film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), and the last film of the MCU's phase 3. The movie effectively ends the Infinity Saga.



As school ends, Peter deals with the lost of Tony Stark. A summer science trip to Europe with his schoolmates seems like the perfect get away for Peter. Peter decides to leave his suit at home. However, when he gets to Europe, Nick Fury pulls him into fighting the elementals. Along the way, Peter tries to tell MJ his feelings for her. Can Peter fight the elementals and get the girl?



This film feels so different than the last two Avengers film that its a bit of fresh air. I will say that the demo for this film is more for my teenage daughter than it is for this middle age man. BUT it was still a very enjoyable film.



The story itself was actually pretty complicated, but the movie was able to keep most people on board. However, the whole MJ romance thing was a bit of a bore as the MCU doesn't deal with that as regularly recently.



This movie ends the current Phase 3 of the MCU and the boarder Infinity Saga that spanned Phase 1 and 2 as well. What an amazing run of 23 films to end this saga. Spider-man does a good job of capping this chapter of the MCU.

Spider-Man: Homecoming (蜘蛛人:返校日) is an 2017 film. The movie stars Tom Holland as Peter Parker, the Spider-Man. The supporting cast include Michael Keaton, Jon Favreau, Zendaya, Donald Glover, Tyne Daly, Marisa Tomei, and Robert Downey Jr. It is the sixteenth installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Peter returns home after the events of Captain America: Civil War. Days turn into weeks. Weeks turn into months as he waits for more action with the Avengers. Peter keeps busy by solving local petty crimes. High School life is a bore as he waits for the Avengers to call. However, he stumbles on a arms deal that has to do with alien tech. The investigations leads him down a rabbits hole. Can he stop the alien tech, live out high school, and join the Avengers?

This movie was very kid friendly. My kids loved the movie way more than I did. If it weren't for the special suit and Iron Man showing, I would have been bored. But its a great introduction into the MCU's version of the Spider-verse.

I laughed a whole lot in this film, but it is about an high schooler trying to find his way in life. Not something I am all the familiar with anymore at my ancient age.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (蜘蛛人驚奇再起2:電光之戰/超凡蜘蛛侠2/蜘蛛俠2:決戰電魔) is an 2014 film. The movie stars Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone. The supporting cast include Jamie Foxx, Dane DeHaan, Sally Field, and Paul Giamatti. This film is a sequel to the 2012 film The Amazing Spider-Man.



Peter Parker is on his way to his high school graduation where Gwen Stacy is the valedictorian and giving her speech. Peter missed it as he's stopping thieves from hijacking a shipment of plutonium vials. After the graduation, Peter starts to distance himself from Gwen as he thinks his Spider-man activities will endanger her. They break up and we fast forward a year or two. Peter's continued on his super hero adventures while going to school. Gwen is seeking a fellowship in London. Jamie Foxx is a "nobody" that becomes Electro in a freak accident. Harry Osborn returns from aboard to take over Oscorp, but is dying from a family curse. Seeking Spider-man's blood to "self heal", he's angry when scorned. With Electro, Harry go after Oscorp and Spider-Man.

This movie was very entertaining. The movie plays up the Gwen and Peter story to the max. Will Peter's dangerous lifestyle eventually catch up to those around him? Will Gwen's acceptance to the London fellowship permanently break up the couple? The movie plays up the teenage angst but transforms it to young adult responsibility. The villains and how they come into "power" are also essential to the storyline, but the true story is between Peter and Gwen.

Emma Stone is pretty "Amazing" in the film. Emma Stone lights up the screen. She's got it. That "it" that draws your attention to the screen. Garfield does a good job, but this film was almost more for Emma Stone. Thank you Emma.

Go watch it if you like Spider-man. Go watch this if you like action.

The Amazing Spider-Man (蜘蛛人:驚奇再起) is an 2012 film. The movie stars Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone. The movie is an reboot of the previous Spider-Man trilogy. Although the movie did not fare as well box office wise, an sequel is in the works with essentially the same creative team.



Andrew Garfield plays Peter Parker, a high school nerd that gets an internship at Oscorp. It is there that he bumps into Gwen Stacey, played by Emma Stone, an classmate from school. On his very first day there, he is bitten by a spider, a radioactive spider. You know the story, Peter is transformed the next morning and has magical spider like powers like sticking to walls and great agility. Eventually, his self discovery leads to selfishness and Uncle Ben pays the price. Enter his work at the Oscorp lab, where the Lizard is created, he fights this reptilian to death. And maybe gets the gal.

This movie was very entertaining. I don't know how many times I've seen the Spidey origin story told. Comics, cartoons, television, and now movies. I bet there have been other ways that escape my dull mind now. That said, the film had great acting, well paced story sprinkled with lots of action. I will be watching this again for sure.
