The Girl on the Train (列車上的女孩) is an 2016 film. The movies stars Emily Blunt, Rebecca Ferguson, Haley Bennett, Justin Theroux, Luke Evans, Allison Janney, Édgar Ramírez and Lisa Kudrow.

Rachel rides the train everyday and is obsessed with her ex-husband and his new wife. So obsessed that they have a restraining order on her. When a neighbor goes missing that she knows, she starts to inject herself into those on the case. However, Rachel isn't all there and is an alcoholic. Will she mess up her life and others with her obsession?

This movie was trippy. Emily Blunt does not look good in this movie. As Rachel, the character has no redeeming qualities and you should not feel for her. But the movie doesn't care and gives her chances after chances. Everyone in this film is beautiful. From Emily all the way down. Beautiful people all abound in this film. Yet the subject matter in almost all their lives is dark, dirty, and disdainful. If you want your life to be like theirs, you're in for a world of drama, lies, and deceit. This is not a film I would ever watch again, no matter how beautiful everyone in the film are.

A Quiet Place - 噤界

A Quiet Place (噤界) is an 2018 film. The movie stars John Krasinski and Emily Blunt. The supporting cast include Millicent Simmonds, Noah Jupe, and Cade Woodward. John Krasinski was also the director, screenplay writer, and executive producer for the film. John Krasinski and Emily Blunt are also married in real life.

89 days after a earth catastrophe, a family of five are rummaging through an abandoned drug store for cold medicine. On the way back, the youngest, a four year old boy, pulls out a toy and turns it on. Immediate, the father runs to the child, but it is too late. The child is taken away by a blurred shadow. Almost 400 some days later, we re-visit the family on their farm and see a slice of their everyday life. We find out that the mother is pregnant with a child and see their preparations for the baby room. Fast forward a few days later, the father takes the son to stream nearby to do some fishing. While the daughter is left to help the mom. While the father and son are away, the mother begins the process to give birth. Will the creature be back as they are attracted to sound?

The movie was quiet, but there are elements of sound throughout. It is no silent movie. But it is about being quiet so the monsters do not attack. It is also a look into the lives of survivors and how they coupe with struggle and their loss of freedom. John Krasinski and Emily Blunt do an amazing job. The story concept is also a winner. Paramount is already going to create a Quiet Universe movie series. Hope they don't mess up a good thing. John Krasinski may not be on for a sequel as he's already looking to make a movie about life on mars next.

Looper - 迴路殺手

Looper (迴路殺手/環形使者/時凶獵殺) is an 2012 film. The movie stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Bruce Willis, and Emily Blunt. The supporting cast include Paul Dano, Noah Segan, Piper Perabo, Jeff Daniels, and Xu Qing. The movie is set in 2044, after the collapse of the United States and the emergence of Zhong Guo.



Loopers are hitmen that dispose of victims sent from the future. JGL plays Joe, a drug addicted Looper from Kansas. Loopers who kill their future selves are sent a huge severance of gold and are than retired from the trade. When Joe hesitates to kill s future self played by Bruce Willis, the story gets interesting. Joe than tries to unsuccessfully kill his future self many times and now has a bounty on his head. On the run, he finds a farm run by Emily Blunt's character, Sara Rollins and her ~ten year old son. It is there that the new reality unfolds and things start to change. The old year has an agenda that unfolds as the movie progresses. The current Joe is just trying to make it out alive.

This movie was pretty awesome. The story is the main reason. Backed by an amazing performance by JGL and Emily Blunt, this is a must watch for time altering Sci-fi geeks. The love stories that unfold in this movie are quite heart warming too.

The Wolfman - 狼嚎再起

The Wolfman (狼嚎再起) is a 2010 film. The movie stars Benicio del Toro, Anthony Hopkins, Emily Blunt, and Hugo Weaving. This movie is a re-make of the 1941 film The Wolf Man.

Benicio plays Lawrence Talbot, a world renowned Shakespearean actor in London. Lawrence's brother, Ben, has recently gone missing and Ben's fiance Gwen Conliffe has sought Lawrence out to help find Ben. Lawrence, reluctantly agrees and heads back home Blackmoor. Lawrence has not been home since his teens when he witness his mother's murder. When Lawrence makes it back, Ben's body is found and kept at a slaughterhouse. From that point on, its a chase to find out who the wolfman is.

The movie was pretty well made and told a very straight forward story. The storyline was easy to follow and actually no so boring. Benicio does a good job of being both tough, uneasy, and reluctant. Anthony Hopkins was another story, that guy was so strange throughout the movie. Emily Blunt was the lone female in a heavy male dominated cast.

An impression action thriller and well made movie.
