Warm Bodies - 殭屍哪有這麼帥

Warm Bodies (殭屍哪有這麼帥) is an 2013 film. The movies stars Nicholas Hoult and Teresa Palmer. The supporting cast include Rob Corddry, Dave Franco, Analeigh Tipton, and John Malkovich. The movie is based on a novel of the same name written by Isaac Marion. The movie did well enough that Summit Entertainment is starting pre-production on a prequel.

Nicholas Hoult plays "R" a zombie. Teresa Palmer plays Julie Grigio, part of the remaining human race. While on a medicine run, R and his group find this human group and proceed to eat them. R actually eats Julie's boyfriend at the time. While eating the brains of his victim, R gains flashes of the memory left in the brain. As such, Julie's images flash before R, prompting him to save Julie from the other Zombies. When Julie gets back to the human camp safe, she tells of how this zombie is starting to become "human" again.

This movie was really really entertaining. Based on the current Zombie mythos, this version of zombies flips some conventions on its head. First is that while eating the brain, the zombie gains memories of its victims. Second is that zombies can be cured through love. Not some cure as we see in other inclinations (pertaining to vampires as well). Third is that zombie's can dream.

Add to it the extremely beautiful Montreal backdrop, Analiegh Tipton, and Theresa Palmer. Wow. Blown away. However, I find it hard to convince myself that I would re-watch this a second time. Definitely worth a watch though.

I Am Number Four - 獵殺第四行者

I Am Number Four (獵殺第四行者) is a 2011 film. The movie stars Alex Pettyfer, Dianna Agron, and Teresa Palmer. The movie is based on a fiction novel of the same name.

Alex Pettyfer plays John Smith, an alien from the planet Lorien taking shelter here on earth. Lorien was ransacked by another alien race, the Mogadorians. The Lorien sent eight of their most gifted children to earth. However, the Mogadorians have followed to earth and have to eliminate the eight in order. John Smith is number four. John Smith and his protector, Henri, goto Paradise, Ohio, USA to research something. John Smith falls for Sarah, played by Dianna Agron. However, because of the internet, John Smith's alien activity has made it onto YouTube. How can John Smith stop the Mogadorians?

The movie was very sci-fi at its core. Alien lifeforms on earth. Co-existing among use? Yupe, suspend your belief and just roll with it. Yes, the movie is cheezy. Yes, the protagonist deserves to be found with his foolish, "I want to be noticed", mentality. But without it, how shall we see the bad guys? How will he get the girl? You don't need the answers, you just need your suspend logic for a pretty typical sci-fi movie.

The Sorcerer's Apprentice - 魔法師的學徒

The Sorcerer's Apprentice (魔法師的學徒) is a 2010 film. The movie stars Nicolas Cage, Jay Baruchel, Alfred Molina, Monica Bellucci, and Teresa Palmer. The premise of the movie was based on Fantasia.

Merlin's three apprentice help keep the evil Morgana sorcerer's from taking over the earth. Fast forward to modern times and the bloodline of Merlin is found that can permanently destroy the Morganas. But this guy wasn't brought up a sorcerer. In fact, he's a major nerd. Now, its up to the last good apprentice of Merlin to teach him.

The movie was pretty fun and frustrating at the same time. I don't really have the patience to watch this, figure out my powers as it goes anymore. Personally, I think its lame that they fight it. But, good thing you have Nicholas Cage to carry it as an bass @$$ apprentice of Merlin.

Jay Baruchel gives his usual "I am a geek" and I don't deserve all this good stuff performance. However, Teresa Palmer looks too similar to the female lead in Jay's other movie, She's Out Of My League. Alice Eve and Teresa Palmer are mirror twins in a sense. Blond bombshell love interest that Jay shouldn't be ever be able to get in real life.

BTW - Monica Bellucci is still a sight to behold at 46. Still amazing after all these years. It is a major shame that she doesn't get more screen time. They should have worked a lot more flashbacks. Seriously, more screen time for Monica!
