The Drop Box is an 2015 film. The film is an documentary of a baby drop in South Korea. The movie was originally shown back in 2013 after the director, Brian Ivie, spent 6 months with the organization receiving these babies starting in December 2011. It is receiving its official release this week.

The Drop Box tells the story of one man’s efforts to protect and care for newborn babies who might have otherwise been abandoned on the streets of Seoul, South Korea. Pastor Lee Jong-Rak built a “baby box” – a safe harbor to welcome and care for these babies. So far, more than 600 babies – many of whom have disabilities – have been helped.
The movie shows a little of the origins of Pastor Lee, how met his wife, and started to take in disabled children while caring for his one disabled son. As the story unfolds, we're shown glimpse into the lives of several of the children that have been taken in. Mixed in between these stories, we're shown bits and pieces of when the babies are left in the baby drop box and how they take care of them. Also around the beginning of the film, we're shown how other "baby drops" originated and its current form in other countries.
Wherever you fall on the baby drop concept, this movie is a window into something often swept under the rug. The film will have an impact, but because of its Christian roots, it'll have little affect on the mainstream.
