American Sniper - 美國狙擊手
American Sniper (美國狙擊手) is an 2014 film. The movie stars Bradley Cooper and Sienna Miller and is directed by Clint Eastwood. The movie is based on the novel of the same name, an autobiography of Chris Kyle, named "the deadliest marksman in U.S. military history".
Chris Kyle is raised in Texas and is trained by his father to hunt. At an early age, Kyle shows good marksmanship. Chris is also taught to be a big brother to his weaker younger brother. In adulthood, they both join the rodeo circuit. When Kyle sees the bombing of an US Embassy, Chris is compelled to join the Navy Seals. At an more advance age, Kyle joins the SEALS and is called "old man" during boot camp. Kyle meets his future wife, Taya, at a bar and they begin a torrid romance to marriage. Subsequently, Chris Kyle serves four tours and becomes the most decorated sniper in US military history.
The movie explores the affects of war. How he deals with life during his tours, back at home with PTSD, and his road back. Bradley Cooper presents a vulnerable man that has a tough exterior, but lives to protect those around him. Siena Miller is a beauty and lit up the screen. Miller played a role that showed her need for a loving boyfriend and wife, to motherhood.
Caught this film at 9:30 AM in the morning and it was an packed house and older demographic. The movie was pretty good and should be on your watch list. As much as I don't care for awards season, American Sniper deserves the praise its getting.
