No Lin in Lost

No Lin again! Third missed game in a row in a lost to the Hawks. However, I think the reports of his return on Tuesday are troubling. I want more Lin.

I'd like a refund on my NBA League Pass if Jeremy Lin sits more.

Play Jeremy Lin!

21 Jump Street - 龍虎少年隊

21 Jump Street (龍虎少年隊) is an 2012 film. The film stars Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum. The supporting cast include Brie Larson, Dave Franco, Ellie Kemper, Rob Riggle, and Ice Cube. Three of the orignial cast members of the television show also make cameo appearances. I will not name them here.

The movie starts in 2005 with Jonah Hill as Schmidt as an Slim Shady copy cat with music and braces in tow. Tatum plays the school's popular kid that's too dumb to know it, Greg Jenko. Fast forward seven years and they meet up in police academy and become friends and partners. Due to their youthful looks, they are sent to the high school undercover division on 21 Jump Street. Ice Cube plays their over the top captain that sends them into school to break a drug ring. While there, all the insecurities of their High School days are brought out in full force. However, its flipped around, Jenko is now the NERD and Schmidt, the popular kid. They inflitrate the ring and bust it.

The story is your standard undercover story. However, the buddy aspect of the film is pretty ridiculous. Basically, I see this as 21 Jump "Superbad" Street. So ridiculous are some of the things that go on that you have to scoff at the pure absurdity of it. The movie goes where gross hasn't gone before and than some. If you thought American Pie was breaking new ground 13 years ago, this is breaking ground for gross out humor in 2012. The Bridesmaids buddy movie of 2012.

No Lin In Win Again

Oh my! No Jeremy Lin in a big win over the Magic. I hope this isn't the beginning of the end for Jeremy Lin. To be relegated to the bench for the remainder of the season.

Please let him start again.

On another note, Jeremy Lin being himself, reaching out to someone that made fun of him. On purpose or not, it was done.

女孩壞壞 - Bad Girls - Upcoming

女孩壞壞 (Bad Girls) is being released in Taipei next week. The movie stars Ella and Mike He. While filming a film, the two leads fall for each other. Seems like a straight forward romantic comedy. I am in.

No Lin In Win

Jeremy Lin hurt his knee on Saturday. Jeremy Lin was kept out of the game. Melo had his best scoring game before Lin. This is the end. NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was a good run. Let's see that playoff push!

Real Steel - 鋼鐵擂台

Real Steel (鋼鐵擂台) is an 2011 film. The movie stars Hugh Jackman, Dakota Goyo, and Evangeline Lilly. Support cast include Karl Yune and Olga Fonda.

In the near future, humans no longer fight in the ring. Human controlled robots fight. Humans build and operate them like they would a RC car. Some have shadow features (why everyone doesn't have this is lame). Hugh Jackman plays a robot hustler, named Charlie, trying to make ends meet with old jobs with his robot. In a case of being totally stupid, he loses his robot and has to find a new one. When he gets back to his homebase, he's left with a son he never knew about from his former ex-wife. Seizing the opportunity to get some $$ from the rich aunt and uncle that want Max for themselves, they embark on a summer adventure. With the new earned $$, Charlie purchases a former Asian robot champ. On the first fight, feeling a little too confident, the robot is decapitated. Charlie and his son Max now have to get a new robot. When looking for parts to repair, they happen around a sparring robot and salvage it with great fanfare. The robot has a shadow feature and Max puts a bunch of key features from the two other destroyed robots. From that shadow feature, Charlie gets back to his boxing roots and trains Atom to fight. Fights so well with Charlie's natural boxing talent, he takes out all the suckers.

This movie is not for adults. It's for kids. The story was based on a 10 year olds perception of life. Charlie is not a man to make good decisions. How a 10 year boy changes his life could happen, but not likely. Reality isn't this films strong suit. However, the story is feel good and has the ultimate happy ending. Karl Yune plays the Japanese antagonist of the film that barely speaks and looks angry 99% of the time. However, he's not the only Asian presence in the movie. Some of the robot controllers were also Asian.

Jeremy Lin Wins Again

Jeremy Lin starts another streak with a win against the Pistons. Jeremy Lin had 13 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, and 7 turnovers. Dang, that's a lot of turnovers. Luckily for the Knicks, the Pistons didn't play very well.

This could be Jeremy Lin's last starting game this year. Woodson's got his out today. 7 turnovers. If you think Jeremy Lin didn't get calls when he lost some or that the calls went against him, it doesn't help. People can't watch all the games and will just look at the stat line.

I hope to be wrong. Jeremy Lin needs to get out of there. But it'll be very hard for him to find another situation like this.

Jeremy Lin Loses To The Raptors

Jeremy Lin finally loses to the Raptors. Jeremy Lin had 6 points, 1 rebound, 4 assists, and 3 turnovers. The above picture could be a view into the future.

Baron Davis is most likely moving into the starters spot if Jeremy Lin has another bad game. However, when you're looking for a scapegoat, how can it be Jeremy Lin?

Last I checked, 1 player at 14+ million and 2 at 18+ million in salary. Even Davis seems to be at the veteran minimum.

However, I fear Woodson's fears of having a "rookie" in his eyes pilot this massively expensive ship. The safe bet is to go with the former superstar veteran you can lay the blame to if the season goes to the 9th seed.

第三個願望 - The Third Wish - Upcoming

第三個願望 (The Third Wish) is being released in Taipei today. The movie is of a father and son pairing that gets broken up when the mom comes back. When Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis comes, the father and son have a choice to make.

I am a big fan of Alice Tzeng so I will watch this film! If it shows up in Los Angeles.

Jeremy Lin Wins Fifth Straight

Jeremy Lin beat his Atlantic division leaders, the 76ers, for his fifth win in a row. Jeremy Lin had 18 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, and 2 turnovers. Jeremy had only 2 points going into the fourth quarter. But took off in the fourth to keep the lead and win the game.

This was a defensive minded game. The winning team only scored 82 points. The Knicks held the lead for the majority of the game.

The point guards on the 76ers stuck to Jeremy Lin like glue today and his teammates didn't move without the ball well and blew easy buckets. However, those same things happened to the 76ers as well.

This was a good road win for a team Jeremy Lin could face in the playoffs.

Jeremy Lin Wins Fourth Straight

Jeremy Lin wins his fourth straight after six straight loses. Jeremy Lin had 18 points, 3 rebounds, 10 assists, 1 steal, and 3 turnovers. The Knicks are winning again against "winable" teams.

The Knicks defense is again on the rise and the offense is starting to show that movement it had. But it really hasn't been about the offensive. It's the defense. During the losing streak, their defense was allow 100+ points on a nightly basis. Now, their opponents are under 100.

Jeremy Lin seesm to always be in the face of people telling them where they be, etc. I see a career in coaching after his NBA career.

Colombiana - 魅影殺機

Colombiana (魅影殺機) is an 2011 film. The movie stars Zoe Saldana. The supporting cast include Michael Vartan and Cliff Curtis.

Colombiana witnesses the murder of her parents and escapes to the latino mafia area of Chicago. There, she learns the mafia life and becomes an assassin. Colombiana is seeking out those that murdered her parents and will take major risks to get to them. Living an lonely life, she has an friends with benefits relationship with Michael Vartan's artist character. But when she finds the killers and where they are, the hunt begins.

The movie was ultra violent and was a classic hitman movie with a female lead. I liked the movie for its assassins life portrayal. But when the whole friends with benefits things comes into play, it's far fetched and boring. Just get to the killing and finish the story. If you like hitman movies, you'll like this one.

飲食男女—好遠又好近 - Joyful Reunion - Upcoming

飲食男女—好遠又好近 (Joyful Reunion) is being released in Taipei this coming weekend. The movie seems to be a mix of old love stories intertwined into present day love stories. From the opening scene, I was reminded of Ang Lee's "Eat Drink Man Woman".

I would watch this if I can find it in Los Angeles someday.

Jeremy Lin Beats the Pacers Again

Jeremy Lin leads the Knicks past the Pacers two nights in a row. Jeremy Lin had 19 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, 1 steal, and 2 turnovers.

A weird blip in the schedule had the Knicks playing the Pacer for the second night in a row. This game was closer than the previous night's blowout win.

A good win for the Knicks to pull half a game ahead of the Bucks. But they need to win many more this month just to fend off the surging Bucks.

Jeremy Lin Wins Big Again

Jeremy Lin leads the Knicks to another blowout win against the Indiana Pacers. Jeremy Lin had 13 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 turnovers. The first of two back to back games against the Pacers, the Knicks jumped out to a lead in the first quarter and never looked back.

The game is also notable for Baron Davis's injury. There has been talk of moving the exciting yet turnover prone Jeremy Lin to the bench so that Woodson's insolation based offensive can be more widely implemented. This is based on Woodson's five years as head coach of the Hawks. Will he take a different approach and keep the offensive close to D’Antoni's?

Since the game was mostly a blowout, Jeremy Lin played the team ball and the rest of the team played it as well. Good win for the Knicks. And it starts a streak. Two wins!
