Take Me Home Tonight - 今晚帶我回家

Take Me Home Tonight (今晚帶我回家) is an 2011 film. The movie stars Topher Grace, Anna Faris, Dan Fogler, and Teresa Palmer. The film is set in 1988's Los Angeles. Considered a box office bomb even at it's 19 million budget and pseudo star power.

Topher Grace plays Matt Franklin, an MIT graduate working at a shopping mall video store. Matt has an jr. high school crush on Teresa Palmer's, Tori Fredreking. However, things didn't pan out back than. Now, both are back at home for the summer before they move on with their lives. At least for Tori. Matt's trying to figure out what he wants to do in life and his parents are on his case to figure it out. Matt's best friend Barry is a use car salesman that's had a bad week. So bad that he's fired from his job. Tori is going to an on the hills party and Matt decides to go. The party is thrown by is brother-in-law to be. His twin sister is about to marry him as a trophy wife. Will Matt figure it out and get the girl or will his insecurities and bad behavior ruin his chances?

The movie was really enjoyable. I can't remember 1988 all that well, but I remember it as a turning point in my life. I remember having long hair and deciding if I was "punk" or "metal". I went "surfer" instead. But the 1980s stuff they threw in there were rather enjoyable and take it back to to more simple time. Where there were malls, no cell phones, and people talked in circles to impress each other. Oh wait, maybe it wasn't so great to live a life in a facade. But the movie did touch on points of career, love, and the yearning to find that someone to spend the rest of your life with. However, if it weren't for Teresa Palmer, I wouldn't have enjoyed it as much. Palmer is a true beauty and I hope she gets her shot at a dramatic lead role one day.
