A Walk Among the Tombstones (鐵血神探) is an 2014 film. The movie stars Liam Neeson.

The movie starts with Liam Neeson playing Detective Matthew Scudder, all the way back in 1991. Matt enters a bar that provides free drinks to law enforcement. The bar is held up while he's there, leading to a gun fight where Scudder shoots all the bad guys. Fast forward to 1999, Scudder is no longer police, transitioning to private investigation work. A fellow AA member ask him to help his brother with a case. Reluctantly, Scudder agrees and goes down a rabbit whole chasing the bad guys.
The movie is dark, set in 1999, and Scudder's heroism shines. On the surface, we see a man that seems to have been broken and tells it like it is. Honest and no nonsense when he's working. The dark places he needs to go require him to remove his emotions and to put fear back on the bookshelf.
Liam's transition to hero roles is nothing short of amazing. From Taken all the way here, he's a bona fide action hero. If you like Liam, you'll like this film, but expect it dark.
