The Peanut Butter Falcon (花生醬獵鷹的願望) is an 2019 film. The movie stars Shia LaBeouf, Zack Gottsagen, and Dakota Johnson. The supporting cast include John Hawkes, Bruce Dern, Jon Bernthal, and Thomas Haden Church. Peanut Butter Falcon was the highest grossing independent film of 2019.



Shia plays Tyler, a fisherman of sorts who's having a hard time in life after the death of his brother. Zak, played by Zack Gottsagen, has down syndrome and is currently living in a elderly hospice type place. Tyler lights a fire to rival fisherman and is now on the run. Zak successfully escapes his confines and hides on Tyler's boat. They eventually make a bond and go on the run together. Zak is looking for a professional wrestling school in Florida. They are in Georgia. Eleanor, played by Dakota Johnson, was responsible for Zak and is sent looking for him. Eventually, all three meet up and go on the same adventure.



This was one of my favorite films of 2019. I saw a trailer and it looked super interesting. I was not disappointed. The acting was very endearing and the setting they were in was quite interesting. Being a Los Angeles native, seeing that part of the Georgia was quite interesting.

Shia and Zack had such a good bound in the movie that it was quite easy to follow their adventure.

In the description, it was mentioned that this was a modern Huckleberry Finn retelling. Having read Finn 30 plus years ago, I didn't remember the concept, but go figure.



I caught this film via T-Mobile Tuesday Redbox promo.

Charlie's Angels - 霹靂嬌娃

Charlie's Angels (霹靂嬌娃) is an 2019 film. The movie stars Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott, and Ella Balinska. The supporting cast include Elizabeth Banks, Djimon Hounsou, Chris Pang, and Jonathan Tucker. Cameo appearances from Hailee Steinfeld, Lili Reinhart, Aly Raisman, Chloe Kim, Ronda Rousey, Danica Patrick, Laverne Cox, Michael Strahan, and Jaclyn Smith. This movie combines the television and previous films into a combined universe for the first time. A sequel would be difficult given that it bombed at the box office.



Kristen Stewart plays Sabina Wilson who is trying to get information from Jonny Smith, played by Chris Pang. Jane Kano, played by Ella Balinska, burst in as the information is obtained and they get away. Months later, Elena Houghlin played by Naomi Scott is a scientist that develops a energy conservation device called Calisto. However, the safetly of the device is in question and she tries to get that information out, eventually getting connected with the Angels. Let the fun begin with her employers want kill her. Recruited for an Angel spot, can these three angels save the day and stop Calisto from getting to the public?



This was a pretty entertaining film. I thought the main plot point of Calisto was a good one. A wanna be whistle blower that becomes an Angel. And the expansion of the universe gives it legs. I would even Sony going with a television series instead of a movie franchise. In essence, go back to its roots. But Sony doesn't have a Disney+ type platform to do this.

Kristen Stewart was the star of the movie. Her turn as Sabina was pretty awesome. Stewart is so far from her Eclipse days that I could see her in her element. I'd watch a Stewart film in a Bond type setting any day after this film.

The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part (樂高玩電影2) is an 2019 animated film. The movie is voiced by Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Banks, Will Arnett, Charlie Day, Alison Brie, Nick Offerman, Will Ferrell, Tiffany Haddish, Stephanie Beatriz, and Maya Rudolph. The movie is a sequel to the The Lego Movie.

Emmet and Lucy are now in a post-apocalyptic world. Emmet is still his go lucky self and Lucy is looking to brood. They are visited by Systar people that take Lucy. Emmet than sets out to find her. Along the way, he befriends Rex Dangervest. Rex helps get Emmet to Lucy. As Lucy was captured, the leader of the Systar, Queen Watevra, starts to convince Lucy of her ways. Why Emmet be able to rescue Lucy?

This was a fun sequel to the first movie. But with a similar formula, some of the fun was not hidden by a reveal. However, the movie makers did try to mix in some new things. It will be hard to top the first fil and unfortunately, this film does not.

Men in Black: International - MIB星際戰警:跨國行動

Men in Black: International (MIB星際戰警:跨國行動) is an 2019 film. The movie stars Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson. The supporting cast include Rebecca Ferguson, Rafe Spall, Laurent Larry Bourgeois, Liam Neeson, and Emma Thompson. The movie is the fourth film of the MIB series, but a spin off.

A young Molly Wright sees MIB agents save her family and spends her life trying to prove them. Agent H and High T are partners and stop an alien invasion in Paris. After the event, High T than runs the European branch of MIB. Molly find MIB in New York and is accepted and becomes Agent M. Agent M is paired with Agent H. But instead of getting an investigating case, they are sent to babysit an alien making a trip to Earth. But things get interesting when the alien is killed and they are framed. On the run, they have to clear their name and solve the mole in the MIB. Can they do all that and save the world?



This movie was high on action and a very hard to follow plot. The chemistry of the two is good, but that didn't help the movie much. I won't be watching this a second time. But if its on TNT of FX in the future, I may watch a couple of segments.

Angel Has Fallen - 全面攻佔3:天使救援

Angel Has Fallen (全面攻佔3:天使救援) is an 2019 film. The movie stars Gerard Butler. The supporting cast include Morgan Freeman, Jada Pinkett Smith, Lance Reddick, Piper Perabo, Nick Nolte, and Danny Huston. This is the third installment of the "has fallen" series.



Mike Banning, played by Gerard Butler, is still protecting the President, but the current president is played by Morgan Freeman. The president wants to go fishing. The Secret Service protect him. But this time, the attack is successful and it lands the president in the hospital. But Banning is framed. On his way to prison, he escape and tries to figure out who is behind the attack. Instead of being a protect and serve like the previous two films, Banning is investigating and trying to get back to the President because he thinks there is a mole there. Can Banning make it back the president and solve the case?

I like this film and I liked the first two films. Banning is a very intriguing character and you want to believe that you would do the same thing if you were in his shoes. Which makes for a good watch. I've watched the other two films before this if it ever comes on TV while I am flipping around.

Anna - 安娜

Anna (安娜) is an 2019 film. The movie stars Sasha Luss. The supporting cast include Luke Evans, Cillian Murphy, Helen Mirren, and Alexander Petrov.



Anna is trained as an assiasin in mother Russia. As a spy, Anna is sent to France to work undercover as a model. In Paris, she settles in but the assignments start to come and she grows tired. Enter the CIA and they trap her. Working as a double agent now, which side will she choose?



This movie was entertaining for its action. Very much like Atomic Blonde but B level. Throw in a super complicated story and this movie is sort of a mess. But you have three highly reputable stars in supporting roles too. But all of it couldn't save a weak story. The twist and turns are expected in a spy flick, but these were not convincing.

Watch it for the action and eye candy. But skip it if you want a good story.

Jumanji: The Next Level (野蠻遊戲:全面晉級) is an 2019 film. The movie stars Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, Karen Gillan, Nick Jonas, Awkwafina, Danny Glover, and Danny DeVito. The supporting case reprise real world roles, played by Alex Wolff, Morgan Turner, Ser'Darius Blain, Madison Iseman, and Colin Hanks. This game is a sequel to Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (野蠻遊戲:瘋狂叢林).

Set 2 years later, all four main characters are in their first year of college and head back home for Christmas break. Fridge, Martha, and Britany seem to be living their best lives. Cut to Spencer and we see a unconfident and seemly miserable at his CVS type job. When they all head back to Brantford to meet at Nora's, Spencer's a no show. They go looking for him and find out that he's been sucked back into Jumanji. After some debate, they decide to go help find Spencer so they can win the game. However, grandpa Eddie and Milo get sucked in as well. Later on, they find Spencer and set out to solve the game.



Even though this movie follows a similar formula as the first, the introduction of the grandpas and Awkwafina did refresh the movie. Add to it a new story and obstacles, I was thoroughly entertained throughout. You also see that they did increase the budget as the locales were vastly different. From the jungle, they entered into the dessert and snow capped mountains.

I caught this at a local AMC theatre.

Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker - 星際大戰:天行者的崛起 - Star Wars IX

Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker (Star Wars:天行者的崛起) is an 2019 film. The movie stars Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, and Adam Driver. The supporting cast include Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Anthony Daniels, Billy Dee Williams, Domhnall Gleeson, Keri Russell, Joonas Suotamo, and Kelly Marie Tran. There are many more cameos and JJ Abrams regulars sprinkled throughout the film. This is the ninth film of the Skywalker film series and reportedly the final one as well. Lucasfilm has made reports of the film series going in a different direction after the Skywalker series.



Rey is receiving Jedi training from Leia. Chewbacca, Poe, and Finn are working on lead to recover a spy message. They are ambushed and are forced to fight their way out. Rey than receives feelings and ends her training to go find the force message. Chewbacca, Poe, and Finn join Rey on their way to Pasaana. They look for a lead that will lead them to destroying the Frist Order. However, the old Emperor shows up and wants to take over the galaxy. A bunch of cat and mouse chases start. Can Rey and the group save the Resistance?



As the last in the sag, this movie was pretty good. Lots of action tempered with some character development here and there. Add to it the way the force is used, you have a whole new era of Star Wars fans in the making. You should go back and watch episodes IV through VIII to catch up a little. There are quite a few references to the older movies. Even I-III have some reference, but small ones.



I am glad and sad the series will end here. The Skywalker series is the one that led us all to love the franchise so much. But its also time to expand the universe or galaxy beyond this group. And you've seen it happen in other areas. As I do not read books, this will be interesting how they bring the other Disney+ and film series to screen.



JJ does a good job of ending starting and ending this trilogy. I can see the critics nit picking on things, but it was a good end to the series. But this movie kept me on the edge of my seat for most of the film. All the old Star Wars mythos were in full effect. This movie was made for Star Wars fans.

Fighting With My Family- 我和我的摔角家庭

Fighting With My Family (我和我的摔角家庭) is an 2019 film. The movie stars Florence Pugh. The supporting cast include Lena Headey, Nick Frost, Jack Lowden, Vince Vaughn, and Dwayne Johnson. The story is based on the life of real professional wrestler Paige.



Paige grows up in a family of local professional wrestlers in Norwich England. Her parents through local events and they all participate, including her older brother Zac. When the WWE come to Norwich to recruit, they hold try outs. Zak and Paige both join. Zak's been dreaming of reaching the WWE since he was a wee lad. After try outs, Zak is not chosen and asks the promoter why. The response was that he doesn't have "it". On the flip side, Paige, who was only tagging along, was the long contestant chosen to enter the WWE training program. Zak grows distant and Paige heads off to the WWE development center in Florida. Paige leaves home for the first time and has to compete daily with other chosen contestant to make it to the big shows. Along the way, challenges arise and we see if Paige can overcome them.



This was a great film about have talent and not throwing it away. You knew she would make it, because Paige is a bonafide star in the WWE. Throw Vince as the hard nose drill sergeant, you have a great film. The cameo from The Rock Dwayne Johnson was also a nice touch. All in all, you should watch the movie even if you don't have a good understanding of the professional wrestling world. The film does a good job of giving you enough to feel like you don't need to learn it.

Marvel Phase Four Schedule

With the end of the Infinity Saga, Marvel's Kevin Feige has been pretty busy dropping news and hints about what comes next. Kevin is still using the Phase approach with the post Infinity Saga schedule and labeling it "Phase Four". Here are the movies and television series that have been announced and some rumored dates.
