Revenge Of The Nerds

Revenge Of The Nerds is a 1984 film out of the US. The film stars Robert Carradine and Anthony Edwards. They are flanked by Timothy Busfield, Andrew Cassese, Curtis Armstrong, Brian Tochi, Larry B. Scott, Ted McGinley, Donald Gibb, Julia Montgomery, and Michelle Meyrink.

The story of Lewis and Glibert that are computer nerds. They head off to college at Adams for their superior computer program. But are kicked out of the freshman hall when the football team take over. Forced to find shelter, they renovate a run down house and get a fraternity to sponsor them, Lambda Lambda Lambda. Along the way, they are bullied and terrorized by the football team. What will they do to get "revenge"?

This brings back really fond memories of my childhood. Even before long duck dong, I was aware of Takashi, played by Brian Tochi. Takashi had a pseudo fob accent and played up the nerdy Asian stereotype of that era. Well, maybe that stereotype is still around. But with perfect grammar and his propensity to follow the group, it wasn't a depiction that helps. But it did push the envelope that Asians were just as likely to be nerds and to want to have fun.

I recently caught this on the Fox Movie Channel in 2 different sessions. Its still a classic and I never did catch the sequels. And I had never watched the uncut movie version as I saw the TV version from the 80s.
