Star Wars: The Last Jedi - 最後的絕地武士

Star Wars: The Last Jedi (最後的絕地武士) is an 2017 film. The movie stars Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, and Oscar Isaac. This is the 8th film of the Star Wars film series. The 2nd in the current trilogy. The film was directed by Rian Johnson of Looper fame.

Rey looks to Luke Skywalker for guidance on how to become a Jedi. Luke is reluctant due to his experience with Kylo Ren. The first order continues to chase the remaining rebellion fraction. Finn awakes from his injury to look for Rey, but must first help the rebellion escape the first order. Rey and Ren are connected to the force by Snoke. Eventually leading Rey to a Snoke showdown. The rebel forces are pinned down and their last hope is Luke.

Wow, my summary gives this movie no justice. The Last Jedi was full of twist and turns. Everything you wanted and saw in the trailers were a distraction. The movie took all your expectations of Star Wars as a franchise and turned it on its head. Jedi lore, debunked. Hero's overcome tyranny, debunked. A happy ending? Not with the 2nd arc of a trilogy. Rey and Finn continued romance, complicated.

I personally liked the film. I watched it twice the weekend it came out. At the moment, I am undecided if I should purchase or just rent. Or wait for it to show up on HBO. I may have to watch again to make up my mind. Maybe one of these Redbox T-Mobile Tuesday, I'll rent it again.

It's Star Wars, one of the most beloved franchises in the world. You decide if you want to continue on. You can't watch the 9th episode without watching this one.
