Zhang Tie Quan - 張鐵泉 Makes US MMA Debut
Zhang Tie Quan (張鐵泉) is an MMA fighter from China. Zhang made his US MMA debut at WEC 51 with a win. With the win and future success in the WEC, Zhang can lead the way for a new crop of MMA fighters from China. There are plenty of smaller MMA organizations in Asia, but none of them have the breadth of resources or caliber of fighters you see in today's five major MMA organizations (UFC/WEC/Strikeforce/Bellator/DREAM). MMA is a world sport and started like one in the 90s. It's growth is huge in the US because of the $$. But other countries will start to catch on soon. Good luck to the Chinese fighters coming over. Hope they'll experience the kind of success of Japanese fighters like Gomi & Okami and Korean fighters like Akiyama and Dong Hyun Kim.
