Pompeii - 龐貝

Pompeii (龐貝) is an 2014 film. The movie stars Kit Harington, Emily Browning, and Kiefer Sutherland. The supporting cast include Carrie-Anne Moss, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Jessica Lucas, and Jared Harris. The movie is based on the historical city of Pompeii that was destroyed by the volcanic eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD.



Kit Harington plays Milo, a member of a horse trip in Britannia. When the Roman's destroy his clan, he's taken into slavery and becomes a gladiator. As one of the best of his region, he's summoned to a bigger stage in Pompeii. Milo is met by Cassia, played by Emily Browning. Cassia is the daughter of the highest ranking family in Pompeii. The two share a love for horses and fall for each other. As Pompeii comes under the destruction of the volcanic eruption of Mount Vesuvius, Milo springs into action to try to save Cassia.

We all know from historical accounts that Pompeii is buried in volcanic ash and excavated recently. The story is a sad one, no one survives. But in the middle of this is the love story of Milo and Cassia. A slave and a princess. Romeo and Juliet in a sense. Two worlds, but they fall in love.

I like movies of that era. This, even with a extremely weak story and some pretty bad acting overall, I enjoyed this a lot. I have doubts that this will be a cult classic, but it does have the makings to be one. So bad that's its good.
