Immortals (驚天戰神) is an 2011 film. The movie stars Henry Cavill. The supporting cast include Stephen Dorff, Luke Evans, Isabel Lucas, Kellan Lutz, Freida Pinto, and Mickey Rourke. The movie was directed by India born Tarsem Singh.
Set in ancient Greece, Henry Cavill plays a half human child of Zeus, Theseus. Theseus has grown up as a bastard child and has a major chip on his shoulder. When his village or city, Hyperions army's approach and he's captured and made to watch his mother killed. When he's with the other slaves, they make an escape with the oracle, Freida Pinto as Phaedra. They set off on their journey to stop Hyperion. Once they get the Epirus Bow, Hyperion is able to get it back. With the bow, Hyperion is able to release Titans, beings able to challenge the power of Olympus. Hyperion and Theseus must have an epic final battle.
The movie was really entertaining. Growing up with a interest in Greek and Roman mythology, this was more based on the Greek ones. The names and events are much more ancient. The humans and gods seemed to be at odds with the way this story is presented. Weird and understandable at the same time. If you like these type of movies, you'll like this one. Lots and lots of good looking people in this movie.
