Revenge Of The Green Dragons - 青龍復仇 - Trailer Released

Revenge Of The Green Dragons (青龍復仇) is an upcoming film helmed by acclaimed Hong Kong director Andrew Lau and Andrew Loo. The cast includes Justin Chon, Harry Shum, Jr., and Kevin Wu (KevJumba). The films is based in 1989's New York Chinatown.

I am a fan of both Harry and Kevin and see this as great opportunity for them. Given that they both do not have many options in hollywood for regular roles, they are playing gangsters, and Asian gangsters like what Hollywood expects. The film has Martin Scorsese as a producer too.

I am a bit conflicted. I am sure this is a valid slice of Asian life in the US and very exciting to watch. However, it does continue to perpetuate the Asian gangster stereotype. The faux FOB accents were a bit distracting too. If you're gonna go FOB, do it as good as Russell Peters.

Victor Jih Blogs about Amazing Race 17

In a strange turn of events, I recently found a blog written by one half of the winners of Season 14 of the Amazing Race. Victor Jih! After the broadcast of the first episode, he gives a recap blog post on People.com. Awesome I say. I just wish I had found this blog while I was watching.

In hindsight, I think Victor was Kat's good luck charm. Victor and Tammy were the first Asians to become winners on The Amazing Race and than Kat follows it up with a win last week.

Amazing I say. Victor also predicts an all girl team will make the difference. From Victor's top 4 picks, three of them made it to the finals. Victor also rips Michael and KevJumba. Where I had hope, Victor already predicted the worst. You can see his recap of the first leg and the final leg.

Amazing Race 17 - Leg 12 - Finale

I caught the twelfth and final episode of the Amazing Race 17 last night. The teams make their way from Seoul Korea to my hometown of Los Angeles. From LAX, they head to the Long Beach Ports for a bungie jump. From there, they take a helicopter to the Rose Bowl. From there, they are given 3 clues to get to a studio. They have to match the greeters from each leg. After that, the finish line was at Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills.

KevJumba and Michael . . . greeted the winners! The winners were . . . Nat and Kat! Dang, close finish and a lot of good luck. When Kat claimed that the goat head tasted like a million dollars was prophetic. These gurls gave it their all and survived the rest of the teams.

Amazing Race 17 - Leg 11

I caught the eleventh episode of the Amazing Race 17 last night. The groups made their way to South Korea. Once there, they make their way to the DMZ. They have to raft down a stream to a hum vie and than to an US base. With headbands reveal they goto the world cup stadium. From there, they goto ice skating than an airplane than to the temple of heaven.

Michael and KevJumba are no longer in the race. Very sad. They might have been able to use their Chinese skillz in Korean. Or maybe not. Nat and Kat came in third. A couple of wrong turns did them in today. But they are one of the final three.

At the elimination station, looks like its my hometown of Los Angeles. Michael and KevJumba seem to have lots of face time. Kevin is still working his dad about not being in the final 3.

Amazing Race 17 - Leg 10

I caught the tenth episode of the Amazing Race 17 last night. The groups made their way to Hong Kong (HK). Once in HK, they had to get to the Cheung Chau ferries to get to the Cheung Po Tsai Cave for a clue. They get a clue to go to Kowloon side to the Majesty Chinese Restaurant for their roadblock. The roadblock was to find a piece of fake food out of thousands of pieces. But for each piece they touch, they must eat it. After that, they must get to the Bruce Lee statue for their detour. Ding Ding and Sampan. Once completed, they would go to their pitstop at the Statue Square.

KevJumba and Michael came in . . . X! They got eliminated 3 legs ago. Sucks for them since they went to a Chinese country. Michael can prolly read, but know limited Canto. But for the most part, HK ppl know Mando and English. When I was there 10 years ago, I didn't have a problem. Nat and Kat came in first! Let's go gurls! I noticed Kat didn't use any Chinese. So, I'll assume she's not canto and or completely Americanized.

As for the rest of the groups, I like Brooke and Claire to be in the finals. And I like Jill, but not Thomas. Thomas with his "Ching Chong" quote is the worst offender on the show. Unforgivable. Let's do this doctors! Show the racist what's up!

Amazing Race 17 - Leg 9

I caught the ninth episode of the Amazing Race 17 last night. I know, last week, I complained that I didn't want to continue on without KevJumba and his father, Michael. But I really wanted to see Nat and Kat win it.

So, this week, Nat and Kat came in . . . 3rd. But i think they've got a few hours to catch up with. The top 2 teams are two teams I would like to see lose. Nat and Kat for the win.

From the looks of the preview for Leg 10, they are headed to China. Too bad KevJumba and father were not able to make it there. Language could have been an advantage.

Amazing Race 17 - Leg 8

I caught the eighth episode of the Amazing Race 17 last night. The teams made their way from Saint Petersburg to Muscat, Oman. The first road block was to rappel down some cliffs and than find a ring in oil lamps. From there they headed to their detour or Water Table or Wedding Table. The pitstop was right after that.

Michael and KevJumba came in . . . oh wait, they were eliminated last week. Why the heck am I watching still. Of the remaining 6 teams, I can only cheer for Nat and Kat! So they got 5th this week! Seems that the things that plagued them in the first 2-3 weeks are back. Getting lost and just a little bad luck. And to top it off, the 3 groups on top this week are the 3 couples I can not stand. While it was on, I could hardly watch. And to top it off, Gary and Mallory got the boot this week. How can I go on watching? I want Nat and Kat to win it all, but if that makes me have to watch the other 4 teams, I am going to have to past.

This is my last weekly update. I will have another post as the season ends to recap it. But its bye bye bye for me. Good night now!

I will still watch the elimination station for KevJumba though!

Amazing Race 17 - Leg 7

I caught the seventh episode of the Amazing Race 17 last night. They stayed in mother Russia and made their way to a circus. A detour of music or spinning plates were presented. From there, they made their way to a bridge for the next clue. They had to find a tower for a clue to the location of the next clue. From there, they made their way to the roadblock for a pin game. The pitstop awaits them after this.

Michael and KevJumba came in . . . 6th or 7th? Because Team Jumba used the taxi twice when they were not suppose to, they were incurred two 30 minute penalties and eliminated from the race. This time around, the groups were a little more ruthless with each other. Nick and Vicki are officially the "hated" team now. So, all forces to Nat and Kat FTW!

Nat and Kat kicked some major but and got first! If Nick and Vicki didn't piggie back with them, they'd prolly be in the bottom 3. I hope they get eliminated next. But that would be awkward at the elimination station.

Nat and Kat! First female team for the WIN! Nerds rule!

Amazing Race 17 - Leg 6

I caught the sixth episode of the Amazing Race 17 last night. The teams had to make it via train to an airport from Norway that took them to St. Petersburg. The teams were presented a detour of music or movies. From there they moved to a field to plant some potatoes. They would finish the race at a field.

Michael and KevJumba would finish ... 3rd! So close to be first though. It's funny that they highlighted an idea from Michael being rejected as the reason they were not first. Maybe they could have been first or was it a little bit of TV magic. Well, they are still in the race!

Nat and Kat had a little luck on their side and made it to the finish line in ... 4th! No bad taxis or wrong directions. Just a little hiccup at the detour challenge. But a lot of luck too.

Gary and Mallory had a little bit of trouble this week and took a step back into 2nd last. Luckily, no one was eliminated.

Amazing Race 17 - Leg 5

I caught the fifth episode of the Amazing Race 17 last night. They went from Sweden to Norway. The first task was to find the border to get the first clue. From there, the team that decided to do the fast forward would have to eat half the meat from a cooked sheep head. The others teams had to repel down and up a bridge for a clue. After that, they were presented a detour, bike or boat. After the detour, they had to find their way to the pit stop.

Michael and son, KevJumba came in ... 4th again! They could have been 2nd if they had did the more physical detour task and if they didn't get lost going to the pitstop. Nat and Kat didn't get lost, they didn't stumble and came in first, with the help of the fast forward! Gary and Mallory came in second again.

For the teams at the end, I can't really say I like them much. They have all shown moments of great dislike. This week, the two gals that called TeamJumba, "the azns" got the boot. Very nice. And they continued their sore loser status at the elimination station with very little class. They better stick to volleyball.

Amazing Race 17 - Leg 4

I caught the fourth episode of the Amazing Race 17 last night. They stayed in Ghana to help paint the school. They eventually had to make their way to Kiruna Sweden to the Ice Palace. KevJumba and dad had to do a speed bump, 10 minutes on some ice chairs. Pretty easy bump this early in the race. Once they got to the palace, they had to find some dogs to sled and than to a train station. Where they have a detour. Sleds or beds. Than they have to get to the Norwegian border.

KevJumba and dad were... 4th! Nat and Kat were 1st! Gary and Mallory were 2nd.

This episode, the physical aspect really kept KevJumba and dad from first. On the detour, they opted for the longer tasks because a 2 minute course would have caused trouble for Michael. Nat and Kat! These two ladies seem to get into trouble on all their tasks, but they came out on top today!

Amazing Race 17 - Leg 3

I caught the third episode of the Amazing Race 17 last night. The stayed in Ghana for the episode. They had to find a boxing academy and do some things, than get to a supply depot and deliver supplies to a school, where they had to place Ghana in the right place on a map. After that, they where given a detour to do a language or activity.

Kevin and Michael didn't have the best taxis nor the best of luck. On two of the activities, they had to change course. And they finished last. LAST! But wait! This leg was not an elimination round! What?! That's right, they have to do a speed bump next week, but who knows. They might still be in this.

Last week, I was high on Brook, but I totally dislike her now. They totally dissed Kevin. So lame since it wasn't even a crucial point. But I did get on the Gary & Mallory bandwagon now. This father and daughter pair look like they can kick butt.

Nat & Kat don't seem like they have a lot of luck. Taxis getting lost, taxis breaking down, getting lost, etc.

I want to hate Connor & Jonathan, but those fools blew away everyone in leg 3. Starting in sixth place, they were clam and collected and had the help of Samson on their side.

Amazing Race 17 - Leg 2

I caught the second episode of the Amazing Race 17 last night. The teams flew to Ghana for some fun times. They had to find a monument, than get to a marketplace for a road block to sell $15 cedi worth of sunglasses. They make their way to another task to either install an antenna or transport a coffin to get the Leg 2 check point.

Kevin and Michael did show some signs that they maybe able to get to the finals as they placed 3rd. However, it didn't seem like the anyone would buy sunglasses from Michael. Gangster pulled a fast one and got his $15. Nat and Kat however, didn't fare so well with selling sunglasses. Kat was the last to $15 cedi. However, they didn't finish last, but close to it.

This week presented someone that I will cheer on after the two teams I will follow. Brook! Lady is crazy and I am on her bandwagon now. Brook really kept me engaged.

In general, one of the better legs I can remember.

Amazing Race 17 - Nat and Kat

Due to all the hype around KevJumba, I didn't really pay attention to the rest of the cast, but there's another Asian amoung the other 10 teams. Kat Chang of team Nat and Kat. These two ladies showed great pose and energy getting to the finish line.

I am now not only cheering for Michael and Kevin, I will be cheering for Nat and Kat too now. Thus, I'll be dropping Michael and Kevin from the titles hear on out. I wonder if Kat will know any Chinese when they get to China. We'll see.

This is awesome. Amazing Race 17 would be the best season ever if these two teams finish in the top 2.

Amazing Race 17 - Michael and Kevin - Leg 1

I caught the first episode of the Amazing Race 17 last night. KevJumba and his father, Michael, were part of this season's cast. For the first 75% of the show, they didn't get much screen time. Unfortunately, after the first 4th of the teams finished, they started to focus on the other guys, which included Michael and KevJumba.

The show started out in Boston with 11 teams from a pretty varied background. The blond factor seemed to be in full effect though. But in the end, Michael and KevJumba finished 7th!

From the looks of things, things aren't going to go well for Michael and KevJumba. If they can make it to China, maybe they can use that to stay in the game a little, but from the first episode, it's not going to end well. But I will hope for the best!

Ghana seems to be the next stop! Good luck Michael and KevJumba.

Funemployed

Funemployed is a web series from KevJumba and Wong Fu Productions. The web series also features contemporary Asian American web celebrity guests like Ryan Higa aka nigahiga, David Choi, and Kina Grannis.

The series was making the rounds of all the AA blogs at the beginning of the summer. As summer comes to a halt in just a few short days, I wanted to re-visit and make sure I get the word out about it.

The series is pretty funny and touches on many taboo subjects. But that's what comedy does. Taking the norm and smashing it in the mouth.

KevJumba and Ted Fu work well together and present an irrelevant slice of life.

And as part of this production, a dope @$$ song was created to bring out the summer spirit called "Dance to this Song".

KevJumba in Amazing Race 17

For the 17th season of Amazing Race, it is confirmed that KevJumba and his father will be participants. Back in June/July/August, it was just rumors floating around. I had even posted about it on August 15, a couple of weeks ago.

From the clip and pass races, this is going to be awesome. With KevJumba's videos, you get a edited and best foot forward type stuff. Although Amazing Race will still be edited, it isn't always edited to present people in their best light, but when they are just naturally interacting with each other.

When the season starts on September 26, I'll be sure to keep up until they win or are eliminated.

For historical purposes, I will be posting the BIOs posted on CBS.

Reason to Watch Amazing Race Again

For the 17th season of Amazing Race, it looks like KevJumba and his dad are going to be contestants! Awesome. I haven't had any interest in the Amazing Race since Tammy and Victor won season 14.

So, get ready for Season 17, it's gonna air this fall in Prime Time on CBS. Sweet. If KevJumba doesn't make it to the last week, I'll be very disappointed and blame his father.

When the promos come out, I'll update this post with the clips.

UPDATE:YouTube clips from CBS.
