Kudos to Zheng Jie and Li Na
Zheng Jie and Li Na became the first Chinese pair to reach the quarterfinals of an grand slam in Women's singles a couple of days ago. Now, after Li Na defeated Venus Williams, they are the first Chinese pair to reach the semis of a grand slam.
Zheng Jie is ranked 35th in the world and has been a grand slam winner in doubles. But if you remember, Jie had an epic run at the 2008 Wimbledon in Women's singles. Jie made it all the way to the semis there as well.
Li Na is traveling uncharted territory. Na is ranked 15th in the world and has steadly climbed the rankings the last few years.
Congrats to both for an epic run and good luck in the semis. Maybe they'll meet in the finals. Keep your fingers crossed.
The video below is NOT of the 2010 open, but highlights both Zheng Jie and Li Na.
